Frontpage: Looking ahead

SimpleDifferent’s software rationalization phase has come to an end and its evolution is speeding up. Here is an overview of the major innovations planned in the coming weeks…
During February, a revamped home page will provide access to a demo site and to a gallery-site from which to draw inspiration; Starter site renewal and the payment process will be further simplified; and the Spanish version will soon be available.
In March, the Pro sites will integrate Paypal for online sellers or to collect donations, and the “Theme Designer”, our tool for creating graphic themes for your websites will be released.
This functional enrichment of Pro sites will come in March along with a price change: a Pro site will now cost 36 €/year (3 €/month). In the meantime, each Pro site still costs $ 30 US/year.

Improvement: Text editor: title in style

A new “T” icon was added in the text editor. It is used to assign a heading style (H2 html) to a selected phrase. The bigger and bolder text is a useful reference for your readers, and for search engines looking for keywords.

Adding metadata in each page of your website helps search engines like Google.

Discovery: Optimize your pages with metadata

  • SimpleDifferent encourages SiteMasters to add metadata, or meta tags, to each page of their sites.
  • This information is highly valued by Google and other search engines.
  • Click on the “Key” icon at the top right of any page. A form is displayed that shows four fields: page title, filename, description, keywords.
  • Click the "?" next the fields to understand the purpose of these metadata and how to write them.
  • Simply describe the content of your page. Stay in tune with your subject, use your keywords, and avoid superlatives.
  • Click “OK”: the metadata will be added to the page, invisible to readers but clearly visible for search engines.
  • The description and file name appear in the results pages of search engines like Google. These will be explicit and specific about the content of your site, they will be appreciated by readers.
